As Bread & Boxers evolved and ecommerce became an increasingly important part of the business, it was natural to review how their digital platform could support the next stage of growth.
With Norce Commerce, together with Nordic Web Team, an ecommerce agency, Frntkey, frontend as a service, and Junipeer for backend integrations, the brand moved to a more flexible and future-proof solution, opening the door to faster development, improved customer experiences, and a more data-driven business.
Bread & Boxers was founded in 2008 by Alexander Palmgren and Henrik Lindahl with a clear vision: high-quality basics, free from logos, made with sustainable materials.
Their ecommerce launched in 2014 and has since become a central part of the business, today accounting for roughly half of total revenue.
As the company grew, so did the need to work more efficiently and evolve the customer experience at a faster pace. As Tim Comet, eCommerce Manager, explains:
“The most important thing for us was improving internal efficiency – being able to create, update and manage products in a much more time-efficient way.”
When Bread & Boxers began evaluating different platforms, flexibility, scalability and cost efficiency were key factors. Norce Commerce provided a solution that matched both their current needs and future ambitions.
“Norce Commerce proved to be a cost-efficient solution that also offered the functionality and flexibility we had been missing. That made the decision both simple and natural.”
The decision became even clearer when Nordic Web Team presented a structured and realistic migration plan. Together with Junipeer as the backend integration partner, the team established a setup that combines stability with strong development capabilities.
One of the biggest advantages of Norce Commerce is the headless architecture.
With Norce Commerce as the commerce engine, Frnktey as a headless frontend, and Storyblok as CMS, Bread & Boxers now has significantly greater freedom to shape their frontend and overall customer journey.
As Tim explains:
“With a headless architecture we get a completely different level of freedom to develop and adapt our frontend in the way that best suits both us and our customers.”
This allows the team to:
The migration project was carried out together with Nordic Web Team and Frtnkey for frontend development and Junipeer for backend integrations.
According to Tim, the process has been both structured and efficient.
“The migration has been surprisingly smooth and well structured. It gave us confidence throughout the entire process.”
With the new platform in place, Bread & Boxers sees major opportunities to further develop both the business and the customer experience.
One concrete example is their assortment strategy:
“One of the big opportunities ahead is that we can now work with bundled offers and more flexible product packages, something that was previously difficult to implement.”
With Norce Commerce the team can now:
When asked what advice he would give to other companies considering a platform migration, Tim is clear:
“My advice is always to start with the business, not the technology. Begin with your goals and needs and choose a partner who truly understands them.”
He also highlights the importance of internal collaboration:
“Involve more people internally. Great ideas can come from unexpected places, even from people who don’t work directly with ecommerce or integrations.”
Tim concludes by highlighting the importance of the implementation partners:
“From a professional perspective, Nordic Web Team and Junipeer are extremely skilled. They have been strong and reliable partners throughout the entire project.”
