Smarter content, stronger commerce

As the season turns, Norce Commerce is shifting its focus towards AI that does real work. This release brings two new capabilities in open beta: AI-powered content enrichment in Norce PIM and Norce Backend MCP servers. It also adds Nexi as a new payment option in Norce Checkout, makes bundles and promotions more predictable, and marks the end of Query API v2.0. Here's what's new since our last update.

AI Enrichment for Norce PIM (open beta)

Norce PIM now has a built-in content agent that creates product copy using the data you already have. Instead of prompting it job by job, you configure it in layers: a writer role and expertise for the client, brand voice and tone per application, market conventions per culture, and format, length and availability rules per field.

Every job builds its prompt from these layers. So, when an editor selects 300 products, the agent already knows who it is writing for, which market and field the content is intended for, and how long it should be. Brand consistency no longer depends on how well an individual editor phrases a request.

Point it at your assortment and it can generate descriptions and other text fields from existing attributes, specifications and images – using only your own product data rather than information sourced from the web. Translation works in the same way, allowing your existing text to be translated into additional cultures in a single batch operation.

And nothing is published automatically. Every suggestion is sent to a review interface, where editors can accept, reject or edit each value before it reaches the catalogue. Each job also retains a full history for auditing later. The AI does the drafting at scale. Your team keeps the final say.

Norce Backend MCP Servers (open beta)

This is the big one. The Norce Backend MCP servers connect the AI assistant you already use – whether Claude, ChatGPT or an assistant inside your editor – directly to your Norce client, so backend admin work happens in the chat window you're already sitting in.

Ask it to find every product missing a primary category, investigate why imported stock isn't showing up, compare price lists across sales areas, or audit a store's configuration before go-live. Instead of handing you a list of steps to click through yourself, the assistant can read and act on real Norce data to help you get the job done. Hours of navigating admin views and cross-checking exports can now start with a question asked in plain language – in the AI assistant you already use, with no new tool to learn.

Norce Backend MCP servers open beta includes five servers: Config, Product, Pricing, Inventory and Supplier – with around 80 tools for working with Norce Commerce environments through AI assistants.

More payment choices, one checkout

Nexi is now live in Norce Checkout. The new adapter connects Nexi Group's Paygate v2 platform, supporting card payments, iDEAL, PayPal, Swish, and Vipps MobilePay through a hosted forms model. Your storefront controls which payment methods are offered, while Nexi hosts the secure payment form. The integration also supports full capture, refund, and cancellation, with automatic, manual, or delayed capture modes to accommodate different fulfilment flows.

Clearer bundles, predictable promotions

Bundles and promotions now work together more predictably. For managed bundles and packages, the bundle parent is the single unit promotions evaluate which means child articles inside a bundle no longer trigger or block promotion requirements on their own. Discounts applied to the parent are distributed proportionally across its children and merchants who want a bundle excluded from promotions entirely can set it as non-discountable at the parent level. The result is pricing and promotion behaviour that matches what merchants actually expect when a bundle is in the basket.

Query API v2.0 retired

Query API v2.0 reached end of support on 31 August 2026, with full end of life following on 31 October. Query API v3.0 is now the primary version, so if you still have integrations running on v2.0, now is the time to migrate. Make the move before 31 October to ensure your integrations stay up to date.

June to August platform improvements

Checkout, Commerce Admin, and the services behind Norce Commerce all received a range of improvements over the summer.

Documentation: A major expansion of Norce Docs now covers system integration (product imports, the supplier model, customer/company data), building B2B storefronts, and a restructured set of product feed guides.
Pricing: Historical best-price data can now stretch back up to 365 days (up from 30) via the UseBestPriceFullHistory setting, giving merchants a fuller view for compliance and reporting.
Commerce Admin: Promotion lists and statistics load noticeably faster for applications with large product sets or many promotions; creating a price list now lets you set a default warehouse and location; category loading and product search are both faster on large assortments.
Checkout: Svea now supports a "use shipping as billing fallback" option for markets like Finland where billing data can be missing; Svea and Walley order lines can now include the bundle parent as a zero-price row, matching how Klarna and Qliro already display bundles.
